Reality Check

As usual it has been long overdue to update my blog..sorry!

I am now in North Vancouver and starting to get myself back into real life; I'm not sure if I really know what that is yet. Beijing was an amazing experience. If you received my email, or read the race report below you will know the race was really tough, but overall something I will never forget.  

I have just finished sharing this experience with a few high school classes and am slowly starting to really appreciate the opportunity I had to be part of something so special. To have won a World Cup and become and Olympian is still unbelievable to me! The support before and after the Games was so overwhelming. Again, thank you!

The last few weeks have been a roller coaster.  I have been quite lazy and enjoyed the break. Each day I have new thoughts of what I plan to do next year, but the one that seems to stick is a plan to race Ironman Canada. My location and plans before that are yet to be determined, but in August 2009 it's likely I will be in Penticton.

I am planning to watch the Worlds best in Ironman Hawaii Oct 11th, so this will be a great way to see whether I think I'm ready for the long distances.
