Beijing Olympics 2008 Race Report

Hi Hi!

I know this is much overdue, it has been sooo busy since the race I have not had the chance to write about it.

It was hot...... really hot and we really did all the work necessary to have a great race. The water temp was a surprise..28 degrees is not what we are used to training or racing in and I really suffered.

The swim was definitely not great, but the goal of this race was to leave everything I had on the course and I can say with confidence that I did this. The journey to this point has been beyond what I could have imagined and I will take all these experiences with me. All of you have been a huge part  of this and I want to thank your for supporting me. There were times I considered moving on and all of you are the reason I continued.

Since the race I have been watching as many events as possible...beach volley, track, kayaking, diving, syncro swimming today and the big night tonight for Gary Reed. An amazing athlete and a class guy who is going to rip up the track in the 800m...I'll probably have no voice by the end of the night. Gooooooooo Gary! I am taking lots of pics and look forward to sharing them when I return.

Watch for me in the closing ceremonies.  I'll wave!!!!!!!!

More updates to come I promise........

Special thank-you to my coach Darren, Mom, Dad, Kaine, Greg for being my support crew here in Beijing and everyday. And my sponsors Argon 18, Kiwami, Saucony, Aquaman, Triathlon Canada. I am overwhelmed with support of friends and family up to the games and after the race.

Thank you!

Time to go cheer our Canadians.

Cheers,
carolyn :)
