Love the Snow!
Happy 2009 Everyone!
I hope you all had great holidays. I had one of the best holiday seasons since I can remember. The first half I was in Canmore trying to stay warm while skate skiing and running with Dad's snowshoes. Our family dog was helpful to keep my pace up too! The second half of the holidays were in Nelson, which was also beautiful and we did more skiing with great snow.
Now I'm back in Victoria and will start a new challenge next week going back to school.
I have enrolled in Pacific Rim College to study Acupuncture and am really excited to get back into the books. I'm not sure how I will handle sitting still for three hours at a time, but I'm sure it will be okay after a few weeks.
I will continue coaching with the NTC Development Group here in Victoria and hope to help the young athletes reach their goals.
As for my own triathlon goals, I'm undecided, but for now training and racing is on hold. I thought by now I'd be really keen to get back to training for IMC, but the fire is not there so I will take a break and see if it comes back. I will always love triathlon, but I think I need to do other things right now and will leave it open to return to racing in the summer, or next year. I will definitely stay active and plan to run all the Island series running races.
We started the New Year off with the Harriers Memorial Run, definitely my slowest run around Elk Lake with all the snow and ice, but it was fun and a great way to start 2009.
That's all for now.
Take care,
Carolyn :)
